Dr. Arboleda-Velasquez trained as both a physician (at Columbia University) and scientist (at Harvard University). By bridging human genetics, vascular biology, and therapeutic innovation, Dr. Arboleda-Velasquez’s work aims to redefine how we understand—and eventually prevent—neurodegenerative and microvascular diseases. His work is distinguished by a dual focus on understanding the pathobiology of small vessel disease, including CADASIL, and uncovering mechanisms of resilience to neurodegeneration, particularly in Alzheimer’s disease.
